The cut off mark allows only candidates that has satisfied it for the school in question to apply for admission and be considered for admission into the school.

Cut off marks are released by jamb differently across Universities, Polytechnics and colleges of education.
This means that Universities has their own separate cut off Mark and so are Polytechnics and Colleges of Education.

On a normal day and before 2018/2019 session, each school has their own standard cut off mark which doesn’t change but as at last year, many universities, Polytechnics and colleges of education did not maintain their standard cut off mark due to performance during the Jamb examination.

Some schools had to go lower than the regular standard cut off mark which they are known for.

We don’t know if such schools will do so this year which is why for the purpose of been on the safer side, I am going to update the standard cut off marks used by schools below and should there be any adjustment, it will be duly updated.

Why Does JAMB Release Cut Off Mark?

JAMB Cut off mark is very necessary for Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education to regulate the number of people or candidates been offered admission into the school.

This is because the number of applicants applying to a particular school each year is more than the carrying capacity of the school and to cut that number down, a certain rule on the performance of those coming into the school has to be put in place. That rule is where the cut off mark comes in to ensure that only those who met the requirements are required to participate in the school’s Post-Utme screening exercise and will be liable for admission.

For candidates to be accepted into a particular school, they will have to study hard and cross the schools minimum cut off mark for admission.

The Cut off marks found below is not yet the official cut off mark for 2018/2019 but its the Standard JAMB Cut off mark for each of the schools represented below. The Cut off mark may differ from the one below. However, while we are awaiting the release of 2019/2020 JAMB Cut off marks, the one posted below will be your guide as it may be reduced by some of the schools as time goes on.
